Lawyer


His work is mainly focused on representing and advising parties regarding construction arbitrations.

As a member of our team, his experience includes the drafting of contractor claims, administrative appeals, and requests for pronouncements before the Comptroller General of the Republic.

He also provides legal advice, accompaniment services and strategic management of construction contracts and civil works in general, within the framework of projects such as power plants and substations, photovoltaic parks, private construction and high complexity hospitals, among others.

During his professional career, he has participated in international arbitrations before the International Court of Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID), in cases related to the engineering and construction of power plants and thermoelectric plants in Chile, as well as the construction of a mega-bridge in Panama.

Between 2021 and 2022, he completed a Master of Science (MSc) in Construction Law & Dispute Resolution at King’s College London, training with leading construction law lawyers such as Julian Bailey, David Mosey, Renato Nazzini, Nicholas Gould and Anthony Lavers, among others. In this sense, his research work for his Master’s degree focused on analyzing the participation of experts in international arbitration, and was entitled “Expert Witnesses’ Independence and Impartiality in International Arbitration“.

During 2020, he co-authored two articles regarding legal analysis with the lawyer and founding partner, Alex Wagemann. The first, entitled “La ejecución del contrato de obra pública en Sudamérica ante el COVID-19: posibles alternativas para mantener su equilibrio económico o terminarlo anticipadamente”, was published in the journal Derecho & Sociedad of the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (PUCP). The second, “Public Works and Dispute Boards: a Pending Debate in South America“, was published in the Construction Law International magazine of the International Bar Association (IBA).

Additionally, he has collaborated as arbitrator in the preparation of the teams of the Universidad de Chile Law School for the International Arbitration Competition held in 2021 and 2022.
